Black Americana and Historical Perspective

The brothers Johnson

This was originally posted by me in defense of Black History Month several years ago at DaTechGuy Blog's old site. It is the third of a three-part series.

I'm revisiting the topic in the wake of reports that the NFL plans to play Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing -- colloquially known among black Americans roughly my age (58) and older as the "Black National Anthem" -- before the actual National Anthem, beginning this coming season. [See update at end.]

Just so that we are clear: I am against the NFL's decision. When you get to the end of this post, you'll discover what, exactly, I am defending.

As an aside, one wonders how long the NFL's decision will stand after somebody discovers the overt Christianity and love for the USA in the lyrics of Lift.

*****
Many persons believe that the history of black Americans is worthless -- a belief which stems from three factors:
1) that much of widely-known African history and the history of Americans who are black consists of victimization: litany of failures, slavery, oppression, colonialism and perceived lack of innovation,
2) that some black Americans use the American history of slavery and oppression to induce white guilt, and
3) that some black Americans use the same as an excuse for personal failure.
But if it is important that we know the history of our country’s founding and the important political, military, religious and social movements which have shaped this nation’s character — this nation’s people — then the well-informed citizen cannot escape this category of that history; to attempt to do so would be to separate black Americans from the rest of our countrymen once again.
Example: [In 2008], there was much ado about the hymn Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing, colloquially known since the 1940s as the Negro or Black National Anthem. Many who had not known of the song, its origin, its significance or its informal role among black Americans, misinterpreted it as some sort of repudiation of whiteness and/or of America-as-founded (a notion which has been exacerbated by actual repudiators of whiteness). But the merest bit of investigation into these areas and the deployment of some historical perspective reveal that  John  Rosamond Johnson and James Weldon Johnson composed the song as an anthem to God and to a nation which contemporaneously excluded black Americans.
But like any other tool — books and banners, for example — songs can be used for good, neutral, and evil purposes. That fact is separate from the intrinsic good, neutrality or evil of a specified tool, but without necessary the information — without history — the truth gets lost and the tool become a bludgeon, and that is what happened to Lift.
At the beginning of former Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper’s annual State of the City address in 2008 (a prelude to the Democratic National Convention of that year), there was a major brouhaha regarding the song when a singer named Rene Marie sang it in place of the Star-Spangled Banner, rather than in the usual order which the song is rendered, after The National Anthem.
At two separate blogs — Hot Air and Breitbart, I provided background on the song. The hosts were cordial and willing to receive new information. The commenters, however, were a different story.  I was attacked by some commenters at both sites, but I didn’t take the ignorance and blatant racial slurs personally from the Breitbart commenters since I rarely comment there.
With the Hot Air commenters, however, the situation was very painful, since I was a regular commenter there and both Ed Morrissey and Allahpundit occasionally featured posts from my blogs.  There were no racial slurs, but being called a liar by people who “know” me was shocking.
The most shocking thing about the two episodes, however, was that so few of the commenters had even heard of the song — a song about which I can’t recall not knowing.
I’ve had a number of years to think about this and I’ve come to this conclusion: most of us — meaning most Americans — like to celebrate the good parts of our country’s history, but we often ignore the parts which might make us uncomfortable or cause us to reach uncomfortable conclusions about other Americans.
And most people don’t want to be guilt-tripped … especially for the actions of others. So it is that much of black American history is ignored by other Americans, especially white ones. But this type of knowledge gap has allowed the originally apolitical song to be used by all manner of political opportunists, all Leftist in nature.
Well, if you are afraid of being guilt-tripped, then I don’t know what to tell you, because anyone with a strong sense of self and strong attachment to truth can refuse inappropriate guilty feelings. And that same devotion to truth should make such people hungry for both the good and uncomplimentary history of a group people who are the most American of Americans.
“What would happen if there was a White History Month?”
This often-deployed rhetorical response to Black History Month always betrays a lack of historical perspective and an ability to be guilt-tripped. (If someone wanted to create a White History Month why should they care what anyone else thinks?) I would applaud any individual who actually made an attempt to create such a cultural totem. Why?
Because, my fellow Americans who are white: your history is my history…and mine, yours. Let’s all act like it.

*Sources say that the NFL will play the hymn as specified during the opening week only. I'm still against it.

Present Help

And who is my neighbour?

See the source image

On Twitter, Dr. Shay -- a black lady -- shared the following.
It was almost identical to something that happen to me back in the 80s.

This is a repost from way back at my old blog platform.

*****

Back when I bought my first car in the early eighties, I was still rather inattentive as to how much gas was in it. One day, I ran out of gas. (This was on Lowry AFB, CO.)

I kept trying to flag people down. A little over a dozen cars passed me by. More than half of the motorists were black.

Suddenly, a white guy driving a pick up truck with the Stars and Bars in the back window stops. He’s wearing a cowboy hat. The truck plates were from a southern state (don't remember which).

The guy gets out and says, "Kin ah hep yew, ma'am?" I told him my plight. Of course he's got a gas can. He goes to the gas station, gets some gas and brings it back. He wouldn't let me touch the can and he refused any money from me, though I offered twice.

God bless him, wherever he is.

*****

From what I've seen in my nearly sixty years, southern men of any persuasion will help a lady of any persuasion. It's a general observation, of course. Others in the know inform me that this trait is specifically instilled by their mothers.

Helping strangers is the never-ending ripple created by a small stone dropped in the waters of memory.

There is a lot of good in our country. Remember that.

Leaders and Soldiers of the Escalating War

It's not who you think it is

Battle at the Black Gate. Lord of the Rings.

Several months ago, while I was perusing YouTube, its suggestion feature gave me an interview with a guy whose name I had never heard prior. I often watch Christian videos but tend to ignore many of the suggestions because there are more than a few crackpots out there claiming to speak for God. However, for some reason I listened to this one and was intrigued.

The interviewee – Michael Heiser – has a doctorate in Hebrew Bible and Semitic Studies and has an extensive resume in academia.

The upshot is that I bought the audiobook version of his book – his doctoral dissertation -- The Unseen Realm and listened to it, and then again. And I will listen to it again, soon. It’s not that it’s difficult to understand, but there is so much information.

His premise is called the Divine Council Worldview. A brief description of it is here.
The Divine Council is the view that Yahweh; The God of Israel is the Master of a pantheon, if you will, consisting of lesser gods who serve Him, carry out His will, and even deliberate with Him in decision making. Some of these members were assigned to the 70 nations listed in Genesis 10 after the Babel event, but they judged the nations they were assigned to corruptly, so God pronounced judgment on them that they would die like men. These gods became the pagan gods that Israel’s neighbors worshiped and who warred against God all throughout salvation history.
This is based, primarily, on these scriptures.

Psalm 82:1-7
1 God [Elohim] standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods [elohim].
2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
Deuteronomy 32:8-9
8 When the Most High apportioned the nations as an inheritance, when he divided up humankind, he established the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.
9 But the LORD’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage.
There are many more references to these rulers over (gentile) nations in the Bible. The book of Daniel comes to mind.

Back in 2014, I wrote a long piece theorizing that people of black African descent were cursed with scattered thinking via two means – the curse of Canaan and the Tower of Babel.

I used the Bible and a short overview of history as evidence. Initially, I didn’t get too much feedback and one well-known troll of black conservative blogs postulated that I was crazy.

Over the years, however, people have run across the post and have received it well.

The only flaw in my thinking was the absence of a framework for the theory. Unseen Realm provides this.

My new conclusion is that black Africans are not cursed necessarily; it’s that we have long been misled by disobedient and particularly malevolent elohim and continue to be recipients of their deception when we are outside the boundaries of the Salvation of Jesus the Christ.

After reading the book – actually, I listened to it using Audible -- the pieces fell into place. It seems to me that the wayward elohim vary in quality as to how they (mis)lead their charges.

As mentioned above, there are 70 nations in this world. To modern ears, the word nation conjures what is properly called nation-state. But nation in the biblical context refers to ethnic groups. Some of these have developed separate languages, histories, customs, etc. over the centuries and consider themselves distinct from each other, but have the same spirit nonetheless.

Each nation has listened or hearkened to the corresponding spirit that rules over it and continues to do so. Those that rule over black Africans are the worst, in my opinion, and continuously lead us down the path of scattered thinking, degradation, and, ultimately destruction.

What we are seeing in front of us right now is an escalation of a war in the spirit world. The evil, disobedient spirits who have misled those of us of black African descent for millennia seek to rule over those who rule the other nations and to drown out the call of the Holy Spirit using long-seeded pride in our race. Therefore, those who are influenced by these spirits cannot abide the notion that all lives matter and react with rage when others assert this. To the unwitting, only black lives do.

This is why the war against white “supremacy” and “white privilege” is a thing. In reality, it is a war between Powers and Principalities.

(Whites are privileged but not in and of themselves. It's only in this manner: over the centuries, most of the white European nation-states and America have been under the influence of the Holy Spirit and have worshiped the Elohim of elohims -- Yahweh. Imperfectly, yes, but true nonetheless.)

(And it is true also that they have felt the misrule of their own disobedient elohim, as demonstrated by many things, including the continuous tribal wars in Europe and the genocide against many groups, most prominently of Yahweh's allotted nation, the Hebrews/Israelites/Jews. What do you think that the occultism of the Third Reich was about?)

This whole thing is the reason that the outrage goes far outside of the boundaries of proportion when a white person – especially a police officer – kills a black person, but not the other way around nor when a black person kills another black person. The latter two are far more frequent than the former, however, the disobedient elohim don’t care about black people dying and, therefore, neither do their human minions – as long as it’s not at the hands of “enemy forces.”

I must stress again that this is a spiritual war and that we – human beings -- are proxies for this war.

The more I think about it, it seems that all wars to take over land belonging to others are also manifestations of this spiritual war. After all, God allotted land and borders to each nation, but all borders and demographics have changed so many times that is a waste of time to keep count.

Here's another bit of framework:

The notion that black people – or any other group – should act in a manner to please their ancestors is camouflage for worship of the disobedient elohim. Any Christian who suggests that we do this is making the “spirits of their ancestors” – e.g. the disobedient elohim -- equal with the Holy Spirit. That is heresy and an abomination.

Even black Christians hear the call to worship and please entities other than the Big Elohim and, without continuously reading the Word of God, meditating on it and acting based on it, he/she can be led astray because racialism -- Carcass Worship -- appeals to our pride. (Leading Christians of any nation astray is the primary goal of the Devil and his minions, the disobedient elohim.)

More framework:

When black liberals sling racial epithets like “coon” and “Uncle Tom" at black conservatives, they are being influenced by the disobedient elohim. Without even knowing it, they are really calling us infidels; traitors to the cause of the disobedient elohim.

Dr. Heiser also points out that Jesus the Christ is the means for all to be released from the bondage of their particular disobedient elohim, to become Yahweh’s children and therefore members of His family. Steve Graham once pointed out that all Christians have Christ as our race and creed, which, if we are all members of Yahweh’s family, makes perfect sense.

Every single racial inflammation is war-related especially those which attempt to set one race over others.

The spectacle below is merely a pledge of allegiance to the principalities that appear to be winning. These people are preemptively surrendering.

Of course, there is only one side worth being on in this war; the one that was victorious 2000+ years ago. The one whose Father picks His children from among all of the nations/races/tribes/ethnic groups  -- including His own allotment -- and makes them a part of one family.

But it is definitely time to pick a side.

Sunday "Law" Breaking

Lakselvbukt Church in Norway

It was preternaturally quiet in my neighborhood last night, even more so that it was at the beginning of the Wuhan Pandemic lock-down. The month of May is usually when people around here start intermittent testing of whatever fireworks they can obtain in the run-up to Independence Day.

Only the occasion far off explosion and a couple of helicopters broke the general silence.

Yesterday was interesting. My church has been live-streaming Sunday service almost from the beginning of the lock-down. Then, a couple of weeks ago, my pastor decided that enough was enough and planned to open for regular service, albeit under the guidelines prescribed by the CDC.

This was decided before all the back and forth about whether California churches should be allowed to resume operations.

Allowed.
A sharply divided Supreme Court late Friday turned aside a church's urgent plea that California's coronavirus lockdown orders are putting an unconstitutional burden on religious freedom.
Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the court's liberals in rejecting a San Diego church's request for relief from Gov. Gavin Newsom's most recent directive limiting churches to 25% of their normal maximum capacity, with an absolute maximum of 100 people at any service.
Anyway, a week ago I had been thinking that there might be some push-back from local/state law enforcement when we again gathered together in the name of Jesus. I prayed about it, of course, and asked God  that whatever happened, He would get the glory.

Immediately afterward the killing of George Floyd became news, spurring the subsequent national riots.

I haven’t checked to see which other California churches and other houses of worship conducted services this weekend, but ours did and there were more than 100 people there.

However, I’m going to guess that our local law enforcement entities might have had their hands too full to police up any worshipers of the deity of their choice. Coincidence? I don't believe in those.

We’ll see what happens next week.

In the meantime, there is protection to be had by any who ask. But there are conditions.

Slow Joe and the Volcano of Gaffe That is His Mouth

Nice teeth.

This morning's fun:
Former Vice President Joe Biden told a popular black radio personality Thursday that he “ain’t black” if he was still weighing whether to support President Donald Trump in November’s general election — provoking outrage from the White House’s Republican allies and inducing queasiness among even some Democratic operatives.

The eyebrow-raising remarks from the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee came during an at-times contentious interview on “The Breakfast Club” that aired Friday morning, during which co-host Charlamagne tha God challenged Biden over his decadeslong record on racial issues and current contemplation of a black, female running mate.

(snip)

“Listen, you’ve got to come see us when you come to New York, VP Biden,” Charlamagne said. “It’s a long way until November. We’ve got more questions.”

“You’ve got more questions?” Biden replied. “Well, I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”
I ain't (heh) even mad that he said it.

The Democrats will spin this in one of four ways (at least). None of them will be good for them.
  1. Biden is senile.
  2. Biden is telling the truth.
  3. Biden was talking about being “politically black.”
  4. Biden was merely making his host feel good – also known as pandering.
Here are the answers to those spins.

1. It is probably true that Biden has dementia, but other that a trained medical professional, who could tell? Biden has been lying about himself and others and making racist assertions for nearly his entire public life. From a lay point of view, the only thing that’s different now than, say, in 2008, is that his ability to enunciate seems significantly impaired. If they admit this, they admit that he's a placeholder.

2. Oh, good luck with this one, Democrats! We on the right who happen to be black are used to this nonsense and to the obliviousness of those who assert it.

Simply, those who assign a particular way of thinking to a race are in agreement with white supremacists. They are merely less honest with themselves and less brave than self-labelled white supremacists.

3. Hahahaha! Biden’s only knowledge about this comes from politically Democrat blacks like his former boss, as if he would know. And, as I said to the lovely Miss alexthechick, the notion that Biden has ever been able to comprehend a nuanced term like “politically black” much less use it properly is coffee-spewingly funny.

4. A given.

Interesting that this is the most forceful thing that 2020 Democratic Party presumptive presidential nominee Joseph R. Biden has publicly said in weeks, months or, possibly years other than threatening to punch a voter's lights out or calling another voter an "lying, dog-faced pony soldier."

He didn’t sound confused nor did he forget words or trip over them. He really believes this and will not see anything wrong with it.

And he will threaten to knock you on your ass if you tell him that he’s wrong and racist … unless your name is Stacey Abrams. But Miss Abrams will probably assert Democrat Spin #2 as listed above.

Assuming that Biden is picked as the Democratic Party nominee for president, do you think there will be at least one debate?

I do hope so. Something so rabidly entertaining has to come out of so dismal a year. I predict that it will mark a turning point.

“Hey Slow Joe! Do you think my friend over there, Dr. Ben Carson, is black? After all, he voted for me in 2016 and will vote for me again. What say you, Joe?”

Oh, let me compose the questions!

Dreaming of Next Year

People tell me that I've done some good work here in the past few weeks.

Around the time that I published the final part of my Obama series, a random guy tried to shame me for pinning my Tip Jar to the top of my Twitter feed. In the middle of the Wuhan pandemic, this blithering idiot told me to "Get a job!"

In California that has ravaged independent contractors -- like me -- since January 1st using California Assembly Bill 5, this moron told me to "Get a job!"

I lost several side gigs because of the evil AB5. And Governor Newsom hasn't rescinded it ... not that I expect it from him. But some moron told me to "Get a job!"

Therefore I cannot be shamed, not about that, anyway.

I've watched people toss hundreds of thousands of dollars at people like the infamous Peter Strzok after he was fired from the FBI and tried to not be angry or covetous. And then I had to grudgingly admire the left and the anti-Trump contingent for a very specific reason.

They take care of their own.

Between Twitter and Facebook, I have a little over 10,000 followers. If I could get roughly half of you to donation $5 or more, I could stop worrying about things like.
  • Rent
  • Electric bill
  • Car and renter's insurance for the year. It's cheap because I'm old.
  • Car registration (June)
  • Car repair -- electrical problem; I have to disconnect the battery whenever I'm going to stay put for longer than an hour else it will drain dry.
  • Light switches -- two have worn out.
  • Laptop maintenance -- I have more than one.
  • Printer repair
... at least for a minute.

How lovely it will be to one day just read, write and analyze and not sweat these things! Next year when I get my retirement, things will ease up. Also, I think we will still be a solid country then and will look back in wonder that we made it through.

In the meantime, if you like my work from the past few weeks, hit the Tip Jar!

If you have donated during that period or you donate regularly, consider yourself exempt from the exhortation.

And now, I'm going to do my job.

Oh, one more thing: some have asked why I stay in California. Go here to find out.

UPDATE: At the top of every new post, I will list the donor count -- not the amount. Right now, it's 1 of 5000.

UPDATE (7/8/2020): 75 of 5000.

Trump, Hydroxychloroquine, and Hope (UPDATE)

For the past two days, people have been absolutely losing their minds since President Trump revealed that, as prescribed by his personal physician, he began taking a combination of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and zinc ten days prior to the announcement, in order to protect him against the Wuhan virus.

Many believe that he’s lying about it. Others speculate that he has some financial stake in a drug that has been officially sanctioned by the FDA for several conditions – including other coronaviruses -- since the 1950s and costs about 5 cents per pill.

Still others ignore the many trials, studies, and the divergent results and conclusions which have been conducted using HCQ alone, HCQ plus zinc, and HCQ + zinc + the antibiotic azithromycin.

And, emblematic of the insanity, we have Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi opining that the president should not be taking HCQ because he is “morbidly obese.” That and the silly paper tearing stunt at the end of this year’s State of the Union address makes me think that there’s some non-political history between Mr. Trump and Mrs. Pelosi – one which left Pelosi with a severely bruised ego.

But, leaving my catty musings aside, I must explicitly point this out: from the time that the president first mentioned HCQ until this very moment, there seem to be a widespread concerted effort to discredit the drug. Fox News commentator Neil Cavuto even said that anyone taking the drug would die! That’s news to millions, possibly billions, of people who have taken the drug to ease the symptoms of lupus and rheumatoid arthritis and for malaria, both as treatment and for prophylactic purposes.

As I have observed continuously during this pestilence, certain corners of our republic – usually governmental and media-related -- don't want the people to have hope and will say and do anything squash and quash even the whispers of it.

And if that hope comes from Orange Man Bad, those corners will lie repeatedly, even when the truth is right in front of all our faces.

Considering all this, I was given permission to post the following from my good friend Dave P. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor either.
Since it appears that almost every journalist got his MD over the weekend, I might as well chime in. I am not a doctor and I don’t even play one on the Internet, but I can read and remember things and I know this —
The primary antiviral agent in the concoction that Trump is taking is actually zinc. A virus is not a complete, living cell like a bacterium, but rather it is a capsule with a short string of [RNA] in it. It cannot replicate itself, as a cell does when it divides. So, what it does is, it attaches to human cells and paste its RNA into theirs... so that when [the cells] replicate, they replicate the virus instead of themselves. That’s how a virus replicates, by hijacking the replication mechanism of a human cell.
Zinc is an interrupter of the virus attempting to attach itself to the replication engine of a cell. That is why we have cold medicines that are zinc-based, like Zicam, because the cold is a virus, and the zinc helps slow the replication of the virus so that your symptoms are lesser and shorter.
With all that, it is still true that zinc has a very hard time penetrating the cell walls in order to interrupt viral replication. Hydroxychloroquine opens up channels in the cell walls that allow the zinc to enter the cell and do its thing.
The third part of Trump’s cocktail is an antibacterial, azithromycin, to knock out opportunistic bacterial lung infections that may take hold while the lung is inflamed and vulnerable.
HCQ makes it easier for zinc to get into cells and block viral replication. Another way to make it easier is to add zinc [to your diet]. You need a prescription for HCQ, but zinc is over-the-counter, as a cold medicine and a supplement. Up to a certain amount, the more zinc that is in your system, the more successful it will be at penetrating the cell walls and blocking viruses. Again, that is why zinc is used as cold medicine, because it stops viruses from hijacking the cellular reproduction mechanism to reproduce themselves.
There is no reason for us not to take HCQ. Anyone who says it’s risky or unproven or should be tested is someone with an anti-Trump agenda, or a pro Bill Gates agenda, which are, more or less, the same thing. But boosting your zinc level is a way to help the HCQ work better and boosting your zinc level is a good idea even if you’re not taking the prescription.
The fact that we have zinc-based cold medicines is all I need to hear to know that increasing your zinc level is good for anti-viral action. The medicine says it reduces the length and severity of a cold. It also says that the sooner you start taking zinc, the better off you will be in those terms.
(…)
Lots of people are on television talking about this and demonstrating they know nothing about it with every word they say. The key is the zinc.
But don’t take Doctor Dave's or Doctor Baldilocks' word for it. Go out and read things. Here. I’ll help you get started.

Zn Inhibits Coronavirus and Arterivirus RNA Polymerase Activity ...
French researcher Dr. Didier Raoult has now treated 1000 coronavirus patient with 99.3% success rate

I'll even offer a naysayer -- the VA, no less.

VA spent $200,000 on controversial anti-malaria drug touted as coronavirus 'game-changer'

Read, analyze, reflect and come to informed conclusions.

God provides and, as I have mentioned before, sometimes he provides the solution to problems before we even know about those problems. That seems to be the case here.

God also provided us with sentience and the will to survive. Most of you have a working brain, should you choose to use it.

Look up and have hope.

The Illegal and/or Unconstitutional Actions of President Barack Obama, Part 4 -- Finale

Kids eating Michelle Obama's lunch.
Last one! I'm still adding links to the previous parts, which are here, here, and here.

Remember to Hit The Tip Jar!

*****

151. ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber said that the federal government was deliberately slow in providing a “backstop” for state health-care exchanges; this was a calculated effort to force all states to create exchanges, since citizens in states without exchanges got no tax credits but were required to pay for ObamaCare regardless.

152. Obama illegally imposed a health-insurance providers’ fee on states that use managed-care organizations to provide Medicaid services; the Actuarial Standards Board (ASB) of the American Academy of Actuaries—a private organization—was authorized to illegally determine the fee levied on each state.

153. The Obama Department of Justice illegally applied the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to pregnancy; companies and municipalities that did not make accommodations for pregnancy were sued and allowed to settle out of court.

154. Obama illegally used an executive-branch memorandum to implement the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) after Congress would not pass his immigration reform; the memorandum effectively legalized millions of undocumented immigrants.

155. Obama illegally used an executive-branch memorandum to implement the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA) after Congress would not pass his immigration reform; like DACA, the memorandum violated the Administrative Procedure Act, immigration law, and the Constitution’s Take Care Clause.

156. ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber said on video that the law passed thanks to "the stupidity of the American people”; the White House insisted that he did not have an official role crafting ObamaCare, although emails showed that he did.

157. Obama State Department chief of staff and counselor Cheryl Mills was Hillary Clinton’s top aide at the same time that she general counsel for New York University and sat on the board of the NYU in Abu Dhabi Corporation; these were criminal conflicts of interest that went entirely unreported and were explained as being “printing errors.”

158. The Obama State Department insisted that Hillary Clinton turned over all of her work-related email, but John Podesta’s emails showed that Clinton had omitted many messages related to Libya.

159. The Election Crimes Branch (ECB) of the Obama Department of Justice met with IRS director of the Exempt Organizations Unit Lois Lerner in 2010, two years before the IRS conceded there was inappropriate targeting; the ECB and Lerner discussed how to criminally prosecute tax-exempt entities.

160. As part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)—the Iranian nuclear deal—the Obama administration worked out a "side deal" not announced to the public; this part of the plan allowed Iran to inspect its own nuclear sites.

161. The Obama EPA illegally imposed the Clean Water Rule, claiming jurisdiction over all bodies of water in the US; three times, the Supreme Court has ruled that for the EPA to have regulatory authority, there must be a connection between the location regulated and navigable waters, but the EPA dismissed the entire concept of “navigable.”

162. The Obama EPA illegally engaged in “covert propaganda” by creating a social-media campaign on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Thunderclap, and other platforms in support of the Clean Water Rule; the EPA hid the fact that the messages originated with the agency.

163. The Obama National Security Agency (NSA) continued intense surveillance of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite Obama’s promise to stop; in the process, the NSA illegally spied on US members of Congress, and the White House illegally obtained the intelligence without making a formal request.

164. The Obama Treasury Department secretly issued a waiver to an Omani ban, allowing it to violate US sanctions against Iran; the effort failed because American banks refused to participate despite intense pressure from the Treasury Department.

165. The Obama EPA blamed state and local officials for the Flint, Michigan, water crisis, but the agency had known of the problem for seven months, after a regulations manager in the EPA’s ground water and drinking water branch had warned his bosses of the high levels of lead in the water; the EPA claimed that it lacked the authority to do anything about the crisis or even announce it.

166. The Obama administration denied 77 percent of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, the highest such rate in American history.

167. The Obama Department of Agriculture (USDA) illegally fined public schools not following Michelle Obama's lunch rules, which had no force of law.

168. Obama IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testified to Congress that the IRS encouraged illegal aliens to use fraudulent Social Security numbers and identify theft to find jobs; this was considered a “good” misuse of American citizens’ personal data as opposed to a “bad” misuse.

169. The Obama EPA illegally imposed nationwide cap and trade after Congress rejected it; the four-stage process emphatically and openly contradicted the express will of Congress.

170. After the Obama administration’s new rules put the for-profit University of Phoenix out of business, an investment firm run by Obama’s best friend Marty Nesbitt lobbied the Education Department to approve its purchase of the school; Nesbitt’s Vistria Group bought the University of Phoenix and immediately changed it from a publicly traded company to a private, meaning that the school is not required to file regular public reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

171. The Obama Department of Justice unconstitutionally sued colleges for posting materials online, saying that it violates the Americans with Disabilities act (ADA); colleges and universities were required to provide text-to-speech functions for all materials so that blind students would not experience discrimination.

172. Obama Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave 194 State Department appointments to people who had donated to the Clinton Foundation.

173. The Obama Education Department’s Office of Civil Rights illegally created a “national blueprint” for tackling sexual harassment on college and university campuses; the schools were to ban “unwelcome” speech and create judicial procedures that denied legal representation, encouraged punishment before trial, and convicted defendants based on a “more likely than not” standard.

174. The Obama Veterans Administration spent more than $1.7 billion on a hospital in Denver, Colorado; the initial budget was $328 million, but cost overruns of $1.4 billion were the result of massive fraud, payoffs, and a wildly ornate style that led House Veterans' Affairs Committee chairman Jeff Miller (R-Fla) to call the project the biggest construction failure in the history of the agency.

175. The Obama Department of Justice granted State Department chief of staff and Hillary aide Cheryl Mills immunity; as a result, when the FBI asked her about the destruction of subpoenaed documents, Mills simply got up and walked out of the interview.

176. Obama illegally granted temporary Medicaid coverage to 300,000 ineligible residents of Massachusetts, and the state received the most generous taxpayer-funded premium subsidies in the entire country.

177. The Obama State Department gave priority after the 2010 Haiti earthquake to aid contractors marked “FOB” for “Friends of Bill [Clinton]; other aid contractors were labeled “WJC VIPs” for “William Jefferson Clinton VIPs.”

178. The Obama State Department recruited SAE-A, a Korean garment company, to build a factory in Caracol, Haiti, after the 2010 earthquake; the Korean firm became a Clinton Foundation donor, its owner invested in a startup company owned by Hillary Clinton’s former chief of staff, the factory has underdelivered on projected jobs, and Haitian workers say they are abused and sexually harassed.

179. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)—created by Elizabeth Warren for Obama—has argued to the Supreme Court that its own structure is unconstitutional because the president can’t remove the director unless he “proves good cause”; this provision violates the separation of powers doctrine by interfering with the president’s executive authority.

180. James Baker, the General Counsel of the Obama FBI, secretly worked with Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann of Perkins Cole to prepare the surveillance warrant for Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

181. The Obama EPA and a subcontractor accidentally released 3 million gallons of toxic waste into Cement Creek, polluting waterways in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and the Navajo Nation; the EPA did not notify the states of the accident for more than a day, and the EPA employee in charge knew beforehand that a spill was very likely.

182. Thomas Reed, director of the Obama FCC’s Office for Communications Business Opportunities (OCBD) was caught by FCC employee Sharon K. Stewart having sex in his office with Washington Post reporter Lonnae O’Neal Parker.

183. Obama Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates ordered her unnamed principal associate deputy attorney general (PADAG) to call the FBI and ask for the probe of the Clinton Foundation to end; the PADAG told the FBI that the Justice Department considered the probe a “dormant case.”

184. The Obama Department of Justice ordered the FBI to not to consider charging Hillary Clinton with gross negligence in her handling of classified information.

185. Obama unconstitutionally made the US a state party to the Paris Agreement drawn up by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC); the American president has no constitutional power to unilaterally commit the country to international agreements, even if such agreements are non-binding.

186. The Obama Department of Homeland Security (DHS) tried to clandestinely hack the electoral systems of Indiana, Georgia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Idaho; DHS claimed that these were “security scans” done with the states’ full consent and cooperation.

187. The Obama Social Security Administration paid $1 billion in benefits to people who did not have Social Security numbers.

188. Obama Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell illegally funded ObamaCare Section 1402 subsidy payments to insurers by shifting Congressional appropriations from a different ObamaCare section.

189. In order to fund ObamaCare Section 1402 reimbursements to insurers, the Obama Administration illegally appropriated taxpayer dollars from Government-Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs) the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) or Fannie Mae and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC) or Freddie Mac.

190. Obama Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and Attorney General Loretta Lynch signed new rules that ease restrictions on intelligence agencies and individuals seeking direct access to raw signals intelligence (SIGINT) collected by the NSA; as a result, the number of American citizens “unmasked” rose by over 300 percent.

191. Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch released Iranian citizens who were charged with setting up an illegal procurement network supplying Iran with U.S.-made microelectronics used in surface-to-air and cruise missiles or were sentenced for conspiring to supply Iran with satellite technology and hardware; the Justice Department also dropped charges and international arrest warrants against men connected to Hezbollah or charged with conspiring to buy thousands of American assault rifles and import them into Iran.

192. The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) ruled that the Obama FBI violated the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) as well as the Fourth Amendment by conducting tens of thousands of unauthorized searches related to US citizens.

193. The Obama Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) illegally paid $729 million to doctors as part of the Electronic Health Record Incentive Program.

194. The U.S. Postal Service illegally gave time off for workers to campaign for Hillary Clintonhttps://www.stripes.com/news/us/postal-service-broke-law-in-pushing-time-off-for-workers-to-campaign-for-clinton-investigation-finds-1.478889.

195. Former Obama administration intelligence and national security official Cameron Hudson oversaw a United States Holocaust Memorial Museum study on Obama’s Syria policy; the study was retracted after it absolved Obama by using a “computational-modeling algorithmic counterfactual analysis” that determined that inaction was the only course of action.

196. Former Obama campaign ad agency GMMB received nearly $60 million in federal contracts, 75 percent of which came from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) created by Senator Elizabeth Warren; Bill Clinton’s Corporation for National and Community Service awarded GMMB $13 million in contracts.

197. Obama Secretary of State Hillary Clinton worked with Sergey Lavrov and Dmitri Medvedev to create Skolkovo, Russia’s military-civilian version of Silicon Valley; in return, the Russians paid Bill Clinton $500,000 for a single speech in Moscow, where he met oligarch Viktor Vekselberg—the man spearheading Skolkovo—and Arkady Dvorkovich, a senior official of Rosatom, the Russian nuclear giant seeking the State Department’s permission to buy Uranium One.

198. The Obama Department of Justice illegally steered Bank of America settlements to leftist activist groups and nonprofits instead of the aggrieved parties; this was done by classifying the settlements as donations.

199. The Obama Justice and Treasury Departments crippled Project Cassandra, the DEA investigation into drug trafficking by Hezbollah; DEA agents said that Obama did it in order to curry favor with Iran.

200. Obama FBI Director James Comey said that Obama “jeopardized” the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s e-mails by absolving her publicly, and Loretta Lynch interfered by telling Comey to align himself semantically with the Clinton election campaign.

201. The Obama Department of Defense and State Department falsified reports on the progress being made in the war in Afghanistan.

202. The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) ruled that the at least two of the Obama-era Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants used to spy on Trump campaign affiliate Carter Page were not valid and had been unlawfully authorized.

The Trump Department of Justice concluded following the release of a report by the agency’s inspector general that the government did not have probable cause that Carter Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power.

The Illegal and/or Unconstitutional Actions of President Barack Obama, Part 3

Obama Administration DNI James Clapper

Parts One and Two are here and here. I'm in the process of adding links to the posts and I'll get around to this one directly. Part Four -- the finale -- will be published on Friday Monday.

Remember: these items are information that was sent to me. However, that I am able to easily find links to the information -- links that are mostly from mainstream media sources, the perceived enemies of the truth -- is jarring.

This stuff was sitting right in front of us this whole time, as the author of this list has asserted for years.

Also, I want to publicly thank everyone who hit my Tip Jar, in case I missed sending a thank-you email. And, in case others want to, the link is right there!

Back to work.

*****

101. The Obama IRS allowed illegal aliens to claim tax refunds, despite the aliens not paying taxes; the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration reported that just four addresses in Atlanta, Georgia, received a combined total of 43,000 illegal-alien tax refunds worth $67,000,000.

102. The Obama IRS illegally applied greater scrutiny to charities connected to Israel.

103. Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which granted the federal government unlimited, unchecked, unconstitutional power in the financial sector; the law in no way addressed causes of the financial crisis, added massive regulatory burdens, and almost exterminated small and medium-sized banks.

104. Most of the boards created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act are unconstitutional in that these boards are granted arbitrary powers far beyond the ostensible purpose of the law.

107. The Obama administration illegally forced the Ford Motor Company to stop running a TV ad that criticized the government bailout of Chrysler and General Motors [Ed note: Obama White House denial in link].

108. The Obama NSA violated the Fourth Amendment by allowing unauthorized entities to conduct baseless searches of the Section 702 database; searches increased by 300 percent, private citizens were unmasked when they mentioned any foreign country in any context, and the Executive Branch lied to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) about the frequency of these abuses.

The Obama FBI created a covert nationwide data-mining operation for collecting telecommunications records of American citizens, based on a secret court ruling that also allowed the FBI to keep the records indefinitely; FBI Director Robert Mueller promised that the content of the phone calls and e-mails would examined only when there was probable cause and court orders by federal judges.

110. The Community Relations Service (CRS) of the Obama Department of Justice illegally organized and managed rallies and protests against George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin; the CRS trained protesters throughout Florida as part of a pressure campaign to charge Zimmerman, paid for by the American taxpayer.

111. The Obama Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) created a "fair housing" rule that illegally required neighborhoods to report racial data to the federal government; the data was used to create “more desirable racial blends” via federal edict.

114. The Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General Audit Division reported that the Obama Mortgage Fraud Working Group had fabricated its claims about its success in fighting fraud; the reasons for the fabrication were that the Group was unable to collect data, and the number of agents assigned to combat fraud had decreased dramatically.

115. Obama illegally waged war on Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi using the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), which states that the president can order SUSTAINED force only against “those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001”; the operation to overthrow Gaddafi lasted more than seven months.

116. The Obama Department of Justice illegally sued Louisiana over its school-voucher program, saying that the program interfered with federal desegregation efforts; after dropping the case, the DOJ began demanding annual data in an effort to “red tape the program to death,” according to Governor Bobby Jindal.

117. The Obama IRS—in reviewing applications from conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status—illegally and unconstitutionally categorized anti-Obama rhetoric as "propaganda."

118. The Obama Office of Personnel Management (OPM) suffered the largest data breach in history, an attack that exposed the personnel files of millions of federal employees; OPM Director Katherine Archuleta, the president’s former political director, had been warned repeatedly about security deficiencies but took no steps to fix them.

119. Obama's lack of transparency was so severe that 47 of his 73 inspectors general signed an open letter denouncing the administration’s stonewalling of their investigations. [Ed. note: a repeat from Part Two.]

120. The Obama Administration illegally attempted to stop the Navy-Air Force football game during the government shutdown, even though the schools used non-federal funds for the competition.

121. Obama Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper lied to Congress when he said that the National Security Agency (NSA) was not conducting mass surveillance on American citizens; he admitted giving “clearly erroneous” testimony and offered differing explanations for why he had.

122. During the government shutdown, Interior Department Secretary Sally Jewell refused to allow states to pick up the expense of keeping national parks open, despite this being established practice; although National Park Service members who staffed open-air memorials were exempt from the shutdown, they were furloughed anyway, and private guards were paid to barricade the World War II Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, Mount Rushmore, and the Grand Canyon.

123. During the government shutdown, the Obama Departments of the Interior and Agriculture claimed that expensive new Websites had to be created in order to explain to the public that there was not enough money to run the department Websites.

125. During the government shutdown, the Obama Administration illegally revoked commercial fishing permits in Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks, stretches of open ocean supervised by law-enforcement rangers who remained on duty [Ed note: Source's last line is laughable.].

127. During the government shutdown, the Obama Department of the Interior illegally ordered the closure of the privately owned Pisgah Inn, located on a private road in the Blue Ridge Mountains; park rangers blocked the entrance of the inn with their cars and forcibly turned away guests.

129. The Obama Office of Personnel Management (OPM) created a training presentation that offered tips on how to cut corners when screening applicants for security clearances, which resulted in Washington Navy Yard mass shooter Aaron Alexis being hired despite an extensive criminal record; the OPM refused to turn over its documents to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

131. The Census Bureau inflated the employment rate by continually re-hiring the same temporary workers.

132. The Obama Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) used mentally disabled teenagers to advertise businesses that were actually fronts for ATF sting operations; many of these teenagers were urged to get neck tattoos with the name of the fake business.

133. Obama issued an unconstitutional Executive Order that forced federal agencies to require Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) for all construction projects larger than $25 million; the result was that only contractors that agreed to union representation were eligible for work financed by the U.S. taxpayer.

136. Despite knowing nothing about the car industry, Obama ordered Chrysler to merge with the ailing Italian automaker Fiat; after six years, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. is selling 4.6 million units per year, one million below what it needs to survive.

137. The Obama Department of Education, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, and Securities and Exchange Commission tried to destroy all for-profit colleges; Senators Elizabeth Warren and Dick Durbin joined in the effort, which resulted in the closure of more than 1200 campuses, leading to a dramatic shortage of higher-education institutions in the US and stranding more than 500,000 students, most of who were older and/or low income.

138. Obama publicly announced that the transparency in coverage provisions of ObamaCare would not be enforced; these provisions required insurers to disclose data on enrollment, denied claims, and the costs to consumers for certain services.

139. Obama and Elizabeth Warren’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is considered the most powerful, least-accountable, most constitutionally questionable government agency; members of Congress are refused entry into advisory meetings.

140. Black employees of Obama and Elizabeth Warren’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) testified at a House Financial Services subcommittee hearing that the CFPB is crippled by systemic racism; the primarily black intake unit was called the “plantation,” and black employees were mocked and retaliated against when they complained of mistreatment.

141. The George W. Bush and Obama Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) conducted illegal human experimentation on financially needy people who were paid $12 an hour without being informed of the risks; subjects at the University of North Carolina’s School of Medicine—many of whom suffered from asthma, metabolic syndrome, and aging—were exposed to very high levels of toxic air pollutants.

142. Obama Attorney General Eric Holder used the much more lax Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) rules in order to spy on American journalists; under domestic spying laws, he could not have done this.

143. The Obama Department of Justice and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation launched Operation Choke Point, designed to prevent banks from doing business with industries that the government opposed; at the whim of FDIC examiners, banks were forced to pay millions in “settlements” until they severed their relationships with industries “at high risk for fraud and money laundering."

144. The Obama Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) sued Kaplan Higher Education Corporation, claiming that Kaplan’s use of credit reports had a disparate impact on black applicants; the suit was thrown out, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals agreed, noting that the EEOC used the same type of background check for which it had sued Kaplan.

148. The Obama Department of Labor banned unpaid internships in the private sector, despite the fact that the White House continued the practice of unpaid internships.

149. The Obama IRS told Congress that it had done everything to find Lois Lerner’s “lost” emails but had come up empty; the IRS independent inspector general reported that it easily found the messages on backup tapes stored at remote locations, and that the IRS never bothered to look.

150. The Obama and Elizabeth Warren Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) spent more than $215 million renovating its temporary office, $120 million over the initial estimate; the cost was $590 per square foot, compared to $334 per square foot to build Trump Tower.
