In Which I Play Weatherman...

Trying to "Make it Rain" something other than dollar bills...

Recall that, in his second autobiography (yeah, I know), The Audacity of Hope, Barack Obama famously said: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." To give the quote context, he was discussing the internment of Americans of Japanese descent by Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt during WWII (and left out the context that FDR locked up Italian- and German-Americans as well).

With the seeding of Syrian refugees in the USA, it seems to me that the president has been attempting to become the Weather-maker for at least two years.

President Obama has been trying and succeeding at the destabilization of Islamic countries almost since taking his first oath of office. However,  he has been doing the same for his own country, as well.

A goodly portion of the National Security Edifice of the USA has a Muslim in several executive positions; some--including me--believe this includes the director of the CIA.

Also, there is the Illegal Alien Transportation Program (my coinage) from last year. But none of these things are bringing chaos in this country fast enough. Bring on the terrorists, says our president. He knows what is likely to happen just as sure as the EU did when it spread its legs opened its doors to every jihadi in the world.

And even if chaos isn't sown in this manner--even if jihadis are too afraid to conduct Paris-style attacks due to Infidels Who are Able to Shoot Back, there are the governors who say "Not in My State, you won't."

Headline:
Alabama, Michigan[!], Texas, Arkansas, Indiana and Louisiana governors start refusing Syrian refugees in wake of French terror attacks
(I guess Michigan's governor says, "we're full.")

There are surely more state governors who will say "no" and I bet that the president--or whoever runs things--is counting on it. Why? Because state rebellion against the federal government is what precipitated our last Civil War.

All he's trying to do is direct the direction--and the speed--of the Wind. It's an easily observable strategic pattern--for those who want to see, that is.

Readings About the Paris Terror Attacks (UPDATED)

By now, everyone knows what happened in Paris yesterday: Muslims shooting and blowing up French people enjoying life. There isn't much for me to add; a long time ago I said this about terrorists.
Terrorists commit their acts not for the benefit of the dead, but for those who remain alive. “Look at what we’ll do to you and yours,” they say, “if you don’t do what we want you to do.” They revel in our horror. They rejoice in the sorrow of the families who will never bury the atomized bodies of their loved ones [from 9/11]. They say, “yeah, we did it and we’ll do it to you unless you….submit.”
It remains true and the choice for us Infidels who are still breathing also remains: submit or resist.

Now for the readings.

ISIS says, "yeah, we did it."

French President François Hollande responds with fighting words, but it remains to be seen whether they are just words or not.

The Barbarians are Inside and There are No Gates, Mark Steyn points out.

The above is demonstrated by the new arrivals in New Orleans.
The Obama administration is looking to increase the number of Syrian refugees who may be admitted into the U.S. as well as speed up the process. The administration plans to do this, Reuters reports, by opening new screening outposts in Iraq and Lebanon. As of now, the administration promised to accept as many as 100,000 refugees each year by the end of 2017. The present annual cap is at 70,000.
The Significance of November 13 in the Paris Attacks; September 11th had an identical significance.

Mizzou College Brats whine that dead people are stealing the spotlight from their made-up KKK spotting and proven womyn studies professor strong-arm tactics.

Like Steyn, I'm Islam-ed out.

ONE MORE; A RELATED UPDATE: Arab Muslims continue their 1400-year long terror against black Africans.

Maybe Trump Never Had to Cut a B*tch.

Donald Trump says that Ben Carson has a pathological disease [sic] and that pathological diseases "can't be cured." Um, what?

Leaving aside that Trump may be just saying stuff for effect--to plant notions in weaker minds and to attempt to provoke his most dangerous political opponent; and leaving aside this opponent refuses to play the game, something just occurred to me about Donald Trump's shock at Ben Carson's admission to pulling a knife on someone, as the latter admitted to doing as a teenager.

Donald Trump grew up rich and privileged. Ben Carson did not.

As someone who grew up more like Ben Carson, I know personally that violence is often more close at hand than is likely so in more upper-class environs. This is not a race thing or even a class-envy thing. It simply is what it is.

Maybe Trump was able to buy off his school-yard enemies. The rest of us, however, were forced to use more...direct means of defending ourselves.

Okay, that last was just gratuitous. :)

(Thanks to Gail Meek for the title idea.)

Blue Monday

I probably won't post anything until later on this evening or tomorrow morning, as I have somewhere to be in the early evening.

I noticed that I posted a lot on Saturday; any more, it's the only day that's slow enough to gather one's thoughts--at least that's so for me. I must be getting old.

Conversely, Mondays are a cavalcade of stupid news-wise. Especially this.

I wrote a story about smart college football players; it was set twenty-plus years ago. These days, it's implausible fiction.

UPDATE: Favorite post of mine from this weekend: Freedom's Implications.

Read this Stuff (11/7/2015)

I recently was contacted by an old blog friend, Neoneocon, and she sent me a couple of links from her blog that are timely and prophetic; neither blog post is recent.

First, 2010: Not Listening to Cassandra.

Now it’s too late to stop Obama from being elected, of course. But when I look back, I realize that it was always too late once Obama threw his hat into the ring (unless you go back decades, before the Gramscian march of leftism through the schools and the press). Maybe it’s just human nature, but whatever it was that Obama appealed to in supporters (gullibility? naive hope?) was too powerful and too widespread to be stopped, especially without the support of the MSM.
I have never before had the experience of watching a debacle unfold, reading and writing about it day by slow day, and feeling unable to stop it despite so much effort. But that’s the way it’s been for about a year and a half now.
Then, 2014: Believing the Worst.
ISIS has done the world one favor, and one favor only.
(...)
That favor is to make more people believe that evil exists.
*****
Remember what I said here?
[T]o black liberals, even politics always involves some imagined sale of black persons. They are unable to view white persons outside of the master/patron/domination paradigm and cannot envision any relationship between black persons and white persons outside of that perspective. Somebody has to be on top. And, in light of our past and our indoctrinated and unacknowledged feelings of inferiority, most black liberals believe it will be you, my white friends. [This mindset applies to all professional Leftists, regardless of race--especially the wannabe Super Heroes.]
 And here?
The pride/shame dynamic (...) is used rein in members of a tribe who step outside of pre-defined tribal boundaries.
Bill Maher proves it.
Real Americans have always loved Ben[Carson] ever since his face was on the box of rice.
*****
Man. I used to be really good at the sustained rant.

*****
This kind of thing almost makes me wish I still watched Fox News. But I shut it off a few years back after seeing O'Reilly put a microphone under Jesse Jackson one too many times.

And, Breaking News Alert! God is correct.

God is Putting the Bums Out of My Life

I was going to put another Bum on Blast. This time the loan was minimal; but the payback has been promised for over a month, then again on the fourth of this month. Promises were not kept.

It would have not been a big deal, except for the fact that I now have bills to pay and, there, small amounts of money make a difference. I let this person know this. The response? Again, disappearance with no explanation.

Again, it's not the money it's the attitude.

This was a person who begged me for help--both monetarily and spiritually--when he needed it. Crying like a baby. And I helped, even when I didn't feel like it. I spent six hours praying with him an reading the Word of God with him.

And God answered his prayers.

It's interesting that both persons who left me high and dry without the courtesy of communication called themselves Christians. Yes, I know: CINOs. But the thing is this: I feel sorrier for them than I would for an unbeliever.
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
So, I'm not going to put this particular bum's name out there. I'll bask in God's blessings and be grateful for the separation. And I'll even pray for God to have mercy on these people. They'd better hope He's feeling generous.

Dream Come True (UPDATED)

Even as some not-so-nice things have happened in my life in the last few years, one really great thing is about to happen. One might call it a lifetime dream near realization.

In a few months, I’m going to Kenya. It will be for the first time.

I have not seen my biological father face-to-face within my memory, so this will be…I’m searching for a word but I cannot find it.

This trip is a result of a generous benefactor who wishes that his name not be revealed until after the
trip, so I will wait until then.

In the meantime, I have to scramble to get three things: a passport, immunizations, and an entry visa. Your assistance will be appreciated.

On Facebook, I have contact with three of my four Kenyan siblings, along with several of my Kenyan cousins and they are stoked! (I have met only one of the siblings in person; she lives in the USA.) They say that there will be a mob at the airport when I arrive, which a bit daunting to this introvert.

(My American family will find out about this by reading this, but I’ll let them know by phone today. That should be interesting, too.)

I also think that it is an appropriate time to resurrect my Kenya Project

My basic feeling? I feel as if God is keeping me moving and putting me face-to-face with those He needs me to see. My natural state is sedentary; but, when God puts a “fire” under you, you can’t help but to get moving.

December 15: There have been no new donations in over a week.

FUNDRAISER UPDATE: The goal is $1500 in sales and donations by December 31. As of December 15 at 10:30 AM PT, there have been 11 donations totaling $454.00 and one sale totaling $10.99, for a grand total of $464.99. Thank you!

(Re-)Introduction

I’m guessing that I have a few new readers.

I am a 54-year-old natural-born American woman. My mother is a black American descendant of slaves, slave-owners, feather Indians and at least one German immigrant. My biological father is a famous journalist who is of the Luo tribe of Kenya. I was born in Chicago and raised in Los Angeles; I live in LA right now.

Long-divorced, no children. I wanted some, but I’m old-school: I don’t believe in having children outside of marriage—and I learned that the hard way.

I’m a retired USAF/USAFR NCO who didn’t climb high in rank. Long story not related to any disobedience. I was active duty for almost 14 years, during which I had three career fields: Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist, Germanic Cryptologic Linguist, and Slavic (Russian) Cryptologic Linguist. As a reservist, I was an Aeromedical Technician (EMT).

I have blogged for many years as baldilocks; I switched to the blogspot format because it’s free.

I’ve been rolling in the dough and broke. I’ve lived beautiful homes and been homeless.

I’ve been talked about and I’ve been scorned.

I'm a conservative.

I’m a follower of Jesus the Christ.

Pleased to meet you.

Radical Damage

So I get up this morning and there’s this:

Uh oh: Carson campaign admits West Point acceptance story is false

Which is quickly refuted by this:

Leftist media target a conservative who is not a white male? Yeah, well ho hum and yawn.

And then we get a gazillion comments from a gazillion conservatives--like this one at Instapundit:
Isn't it interesting that we have never seen Obama's college transcripts or his writings from college. There are people that think Bill Ayers wrote Obama's books based upon the writing style. You never see Obama's prior writing style because it wouldn't match the books. Nary an inquiry or look under the covers to see if there is any validity. Where were all these investigative reporters in 2007 and 2008?

People, people. Don’t you realize that there are no transcripts or writings? Barack Obama is a Leftist construct from start to finish. He was given all of his credentials by the Organized Left.

This is a mind-blowing conclusion, so radical that I think that some—even those who have never been fans of Barack Obama--cannot even consider it.

I just returned from New York, where I attended my 30th Columbia University reunion. I celebrated with my esteemed classmates. Everyone except Barack Obama. As usual- he wasn’t there. Not even a video greeting. Not a personalized letter to his classmates. Nothing. But worse, no one at our 30th reunion ever met him. The President of the United States is the ghost of Columbia University.
(…)I am a graduate of Columbia University, Class of 1983. That’s the same class Barack Obama claims to have graduated from. We shared the same exact major- Political Science. We were both Pre Law. It was a small class- about 700 students. The Political Science department was even smaller and closer-knit (maybe 150 students). I thought I knew, or met at least once, (or certainly saw in classes) every fellow Poly Sci classmate in my four years at Columbia.

But not Obama. No one ever met him. Even worse, no one even remembers seeing that unique memorable face. Think about this for a minute. Our classmate is President of the United States. Shouldn’t someone remember him? Or at least claim to remember him
(…)
So I asked every classmate I met at our 30th reunion, many of them Political Science majors, if they ever met, or saw, or heard of Obama. The answer was a resounding NO from every one of them. I asked if they found this strange, or worried how this was possible? They all answered YES. I asked if they thought it was possible to be a Political Science major and never meet a fellow major in our small classes? They all gave me a very strange look and answered NO. So I asked, “How could this be possible? Can you explain this?” No one had an answer.
(Emphasis mine.) This is from Wayne Allyn Root.

Think this through: the only reason that the above could be true would because Barack Obama never attended Columbia and, therefore, never earned a degree and has no transcripts. That Columbia acknowledges him as one of its alumni, implicates an incredible…okay, I’ll say that dirty word…

Conspiracy.

The Organized Left gave Barack Obama that and all of the other necessary credentials to become president.

Now, if the Organized Left can perpetrate that level of fraud, it can do anything—or at least it will try. Planting a notion that a GOP front-runner has lied? Small potatoes. And, even though the truth came out in less than 24 hours, the damage is done. And that is all that really matters to the OL.

Damage.

Freedom's Implications

In the comments to my post requesting writing topics, Marla wants me to do this: “[E]xplain your reasoning for your [political and social] positions from an ideological standpoint.

Well, I’ve done that before, but, since then, here’s something I’ve noticed: many people who call themselves conservatives don’t really know what that means. They like the outer trappings of “conservatism” and instinctively understand that “liberalism” (better: Leftism) is bad.

But many do not understand or even perceive the basis for conservatism. So I’ll try to help.

The basis for “conservatism” is freedom. And one problem with some so-called conservatives is that they don’t get the implications of freedom. Here’s one: freedom implies that the other guy is free just as you are; he is free to say and do things you don’t like as long as those words and action don’t impinge on your freedom or those of others. And he is free to hate you for your race…and to say so.

Perhaps an example is in order. Remember the Nevada Rancher Cliven Bundy and the standoff he had with the US government? Sure you do. I have close to 1,600 Facebook friends, hundreds of which are black conservatives, and most of them were standing with Bundy, until it was alleged that he made some public statements that were racist. As it turns out, Bundy said little that is different from what many black conservatives say, including yours, truly.

However, when the slinging of the Racist Cudgel occurred, a few decided to publicly abandon Bundy’s cause, saying that the government should be allowed to seize Bundy’s property and that Bundy should be fined and/or imprisoned because of his words. And when I—and many others--asserted that this was a tyrannical opinion, we got called “Uncle Tom,” “coon,” “buck-dancers for the white man” by conservatives. Black ones. Of course, with it being Facebook, I got blocked when I responded to one of these temper tantrums. It was fun!

But the tantrum itself was an indication of something more troubling—that the notions of tyranny go mentally and emotionally deeper than we generally acknowledge and that our political opinions are too often self-centered, rather than morality-centered and/or logic-centered.

The desire to impinge on the freedom of a person who has said something insulting is immoral and anti-freedom. And, when someone else is legally censured for his opinions, your censure isn't far behind. Here’s what I said in the link above:

[T]here should be a legal method of outlawing mandated segregation without mandating integration of any sort. But, doing that would require a politically educated populace, rather than a politically-indoctrinated, emotionally-charged one ready to scream RACIST!!! at the drop of a hat.

Check your indoctrination. And your premises. Love your (possibly offensive) neighbor's freedom as your own.

Black Leadership Nonsense

We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.
--Margaret Sanger

Even though I’ve been blogging all these years, I still get surprised at how often egregious bullshit bogus concepts gets floated into the public consciousness. Allow me to rant about one long-term hoax.

Nearly every time I look through a conservative site’s comment section where the topic is race, some white person brings up a reference to “black leaders”; that we, black Americans, need to choose them more wisely, like we allegedly did back in the day.

White people, do me this favor: get the idea of “black leadership” out of your heads.

Black people never choose black leaders and never have, at least, not the MLK-style leaders. What these so-called black leaders do is get their faces out into the public—with a great deal of help from no one black. Then, scepter in hand, they start the parade, and the average black person falls in behind them.

Do you know what a “black leader” is? It’s a Community Organizer. And we all remember who created the concept of community organizing, right?

Black Leaders and fake black leaders—the ones who have their faces in the national media, have always been co-opted, if not created—by “hidden” funders.

How do I know? I have eyes and a brain. And a few analysis skills (thank you, USAF).

Here’s a related phenomenon: look at George Soros and at how many organizations for social change he has created and/or funded. And the reason that he is so public about it is because he knows that he doesn’t have to bother hide. Those who went before him paved the way and he knows from their examples that few people really look into these things.

So, my friends, get these tired notions of “black leadership” out of your heads. It was always coverage for a Fifth Column

Passing for Super Heroes

We all remember Rachel Dolezal, the white woman who passed as black for so many years and who was so convincing that no one questioned it until her parents outed her.

Well, she has finally put forth an admission of being white—such as the admission is—herself.

Also, there is another white person in the public eye who has been passing himself off as black, Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King. Unlike Dolezal, King still claims that he is, at least partially, black.

What to make of this?

Among black people, passing for white has a long history, due to the existence of the “one drop rule.” This social practice has its foundation in slavery, which I’ve talked about before, in regard to a certain person.

The “black” people who passed for white did so for one specific and logical reason: it made their lives easier—financially, socially, and, one would guess, emotionally. But, it seems that for people like Dolezal and King, the area which is chiefly effected is the emotional one. The specific emotion? It’s obviously self-hatred and hatred of parents. I’ve witnessed this pathology before.

I had an acquaintance who is white and he decided to immerse himself in the Armenian culture; he was well-versed in the history, the social customs, spoke the language, married an ethnic Armenian, and he considered himself to be an Armenian. While I have absolutely nothing against marrying outside one’s ethnicity, nor against being well-acquainted with the spouse’s heritage, I find it odd that one would put on someone else's ethnic identity and I said so to this man. His answer was telling: he said that he had no culture worth holding onto--that he despised his own culture. He also mentioned more than once that he is somewhat estranged from his parents.

There’s a significant factor present in all three cases. It’s the Savior Syndrome. My acquaintance was an active advocate for the United States government’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide. (It’s a worthy advocacy to be sure, but I’m not discussing its worth.) And both King and Dolezal have styled themselves as champions against black oppression as they see it.

Again, there’s nothing wrong with being interested in and celebrating/defending another ethnicity and/or culture. But it’s the combination of those with hatred of self and one’s own ethnicity/culture that produces these odd ducks who wish to shake off their original identities and turn themselves in Super Heroes for [insert ethnicity here.]

The problem with that is that one can never really become not-themselves—not without going crazy.

In short, these people are nuts.
